Posted by Toyin John at 17:09:07 01.15.2016Have you ever taken a step or made a move that was a bit scary because you felt it was beyond your natural capabilities yet, you knew it was the right thing to do? You were convinced that you needed to make that move, in order for you to experience a new level of breakthrough in your life. I bet you dealt with a degree of fear in the process.
There were steps I personally took with my knees shaking and my stomach turning for fear of the unknown but deep in my heart, I knew I had to take those leaps of faith in order to birth certain victories. I cooperated with God to bring about a new season so I decided to ignore fear, instead I chose faith and courage. By the time those breakthroughs came to pass, fear was already gone. Then, I began to wonder, what if I had yielded to those feelings of fear? They would have robbed me of experiencing great things in my life. I found out that, acting on what you believe you ought to do, will send fear packing.
As we go through life, many opportunities will present themselves, many people will yield to fear and never take a shot at those opportunities, many will commit halfheartedly, only a few will go in wholeheartedly ignoring every feeling of fear, doubt and unbelief. These few people will experience fulfilment and success that come to only those who dare to take a chance. My question to you is, how courageous will you be when opportunities present themselves and your heart says yes but your feelings say no because of fear?
I encourage you not to give in to fear, it will come but don't let it overtake you. God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind. (2Timothy 1:7) We must believe this until it becomes ingrained in the core of our being.
What if you fail in the process of trying to be courageous? It is absolutely okay, you would have just learned another way not to do it. I have failed many times too and learned valuable lessons along the way. If you succeed at trying, you will usher yourself into a new level of victory.
When opportunities present themselves, remember, fear is not from God, always choose courage, give fear no room and you will experience amazing things at the end.
